hi! i'm ashley.
for as long as i can remember i have been hauling a camera around with me. from my childhood days developing film in a dark room on my grandparents farm, to finding myself in the most unexpected places on this earth, my love for photography has always been a big part of who i am.
over a decade ago i travelled to southeast asia and my love for photography really took off. so many rich colours, so many incredible people and places. so much vibrant life.
i’ve always been a feeler of all the things and am deeply connected to nature and the emotions of those i interact with. i'm a sucker for acoustic and all the stars in the sky. i find the most peace in the weight the evergreens carry after a heavy snow.
i can't sit still, i NEED to be being doing things.
a decade ago i met my husband and we began our great adventure travelling the globe and moving around canada.
today we are proud parents of two young children that we continue to drag along. we spend a lot of our time outdoors- horseback riding, hiking, kayaking. exploring the areas near and far.
in my free time you can find me in the garden, puttering around our acreage with our farmily, chasing aurora or waiting out the wildlife in our beautiful province .
when I became a parent i realized that time is the greatest thief of all. there is just never enough of it to let it all sink in.
my sessions are laid back and fluid. they combine elements of adventure, lifestyle and documentary photography. while i retouch all my work, i tend to stick with more natural colours, the earth does so much painting for us. i believe there is no one size fits all way of processing.
i have an obsession with all things wild and will likely end up in the weeds, a tree, or a stream at some point during our time together.
if you find yourself looking to tie adventure, your favourite hobbies or places into a session, let's chat!

fun fact!
This fall I was chosen as the winner for Cape Breton Island's "Fall for Cape Breton" photo contest!
This hike hike up Franey Mountain was so special to us, as it was my 4 year old daughters first summit all on her own!
